Vegetarian Dog Backed By Scientific Research

Siberian Huskies

Are you still having second thoughts whether it is safe to turn your dog into a vegetarian dog? There have been many people who are now feeding their pets with vegan dog food and they have proven that it is completely safe.

In a report published in the British Journal of Nutrition (Vol. 102), a canine nutritionist from the University of New England provided evidence that dogs can live a healthy life by feeding them purely a vegetarian diet.

The research was conducted on a group of Siberian huskies over a 10-week sled racing season. What the researchers found out was that these dogs, when fed with a vegetarian diet, performed and stayed as healthy as their meat-eating counterparts.

While going purely vegetarian is not for all dog owners, there is a huge benefit in terms of nutrition. The only drawback that most pet owners encounter with this diet is that it is oftentimes more time-consuming than preparing an all-meat diet.

But there is another and much easier way to turn your pet into a vegetarian dog and that is buying commercially produced vegan dog food. More dog food manufacturers are offering this variant right next to their regular meat-based offerings.
