Healthy Dog

My dog is the picture-perfect example of a very healthy dog (Disclaimer: He’s not the one pictured on the right). He is lively, very energetic, his coat is shiny, and he has a great appetite. It is really an easy thing to do to keep your dog in top shape.

1. A healthy diet.

The most important thing to consider is the food that you give to your dog. Make sure that your pet is eating a balanced meal, loaded with the right vitamins and minerals. And must also have fiber to aid with his digestive system. And there is now a growing trend toward a vegan dog food diet.

2. Adequate exercise.

Just like with us humans, our dogs also need to get some exercise on a daily basis. And it heavily depends on the breed of your dog. For example, if your dog is a terrier, then you definitely have to let him run on an open ground. A park will do. But what if you have a small breed, like a shih tzu? A morning walk would be enough.

3. A regular visit to the veterinarian.

The vet is the best person to assess the overall health of your dog. Ask your vet how often should you go on a check up. This way he can help your dog with the prevention of certain diseases and illnesses that are sometimes applicable on a specific breed.

Do these three things and you will have a very healthy dog. Your pet will live a better life and will be around for the longest time possible to keep you company.
